St. Mark's Lutheran School Reviews

My kids attend the school and are very happy. Pre K and K teachers Miss McGrath and Miss Cave are exceptional. However, once there is a threat of snow the school tends to close. This has been a pattern over the last three years. It needs to be addressed if the school wants to exist in an environment where two parents work.

My child is going into the 8th grade. He and I are extremely happy with the school. He has been attending the school for many years. The teachers are caring, dedicated and professional. Academically my son has struggled at times, but his teachers have taken the time to work with him to reach his potential.

My daughter is in Prek 3 and we are planning to keep her there for PreK 4. For this grade level, the discipline and teacher involvement is great, especially there structural curriculum which is needed when children are first learning to socialize. The new principal appeares to be involved as noted from efforts to improve extracurricular activities and disciplining the student body. However, there seems to be little monitoring of the teachers and their curriculum, so at highter grade levels this could be of concern. Also, the curriculum is age centered so if your child is academically advanced grades K-and above may not be sutable. As such, we plan to find a more academically oriented school for our daughter for when she enters Kindergarden.

Since the old principal was ousted, the school has gone down hill. 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th & 7th & 8th are combined & the teachers are ill equipped & not accomplished enough to handle this. The new principal spends as little time there as possible. On the plus side, the teachers from Pre-K through 2nd are fabulous!

Effective Sept 5, 2007 all St. Mark's classrooms are air conditioned. A security system with cameras for the grounds, parking lot and hallways is scheduled to be installed within a few weeks. The front and back full glass doors are being replaced by fire rated wooden doors. Strict start and dismissal times are in place. Class student to teacher ratios are very manageable at 10-1 to 21-1. Students will benefit greatly in these smaller class sizes. St. Mark's has more students enrolled than last year.

This is truly a great school. My daughter is in Pre-K and she loves it. She cries if she has to stay home. The teachers and the staff are very welcoming and caring and I love the fact that it is a small school. They truly are a blessing and I would definately recommend this school.

St. Mark's Lutheran School is a great school. My son is in 4th grade and has been in St. Mark's since kindergarten. The teachers truly care about each and every child and do their best to bring out the best in each child. The most important thing they're doing is teaching our children how to be 'good' people through the word of God and great teaching techniques. It's worth every penny. I wouldn't send my son anywhere else.

This is a great school I'm a student here and I love it. I'm going into 7th grade and I've been here since 2nd. All the teachers are welcoming and friendly. This is a nice, clean, and small school, so a lot of people get along. It is a very safe school. I would reccomend this school to everybody. And when I rate principal leadership, if I could I'd give it a gazillion.
